Hammond Opticians, situated in London Road, picked up a prize at this year’s Optician Awards for its work managing myopia

An independent opticians in Enfield Town has received a national award for its work managing myopia.

Hammond Opticians, situated in London Road, were announced as the winners of the ‘Myopia Management Award’, one of 20 accolades handed out at this year’s Optician Awards.

The 92-year-old Enfield firm has also been shortlisted for two other prestigious industry-level awards. Hammond is up for awards celebrating clinical excellence and customer service at January’s SightCare Awards, which aim to recognise the best independent opticians across the UK.

Deven Lakhani, director and optometrist at Hammond Opticians, said: “We’re incredibly honoured to be shortlisted for these awards and to have been granted such an esteemed title at the Optician Awards.
