Two deaths on borough’s roads in two days

A motorcyclist and a pedestrian have become the latest road traffic victims in Enfield

The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that two people were killed on the borough’s roads within 36 hours.

The first incident took place at 4.35am on Sunday (27th), when a car hit a male pedestrian on the westbound North Circular, near Meridian Water. The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 5.13am.

The next day (Monday 29th) at 2.10pm, a motorcyclist was killed in Meridian Way, in a stretch of the road near to Lee Valley Athletics Centre. The male victim, aged in their late 20s, was declared dead at the scene.

The Met Police has not yet released the names and ages of the victims of either incident.

No arrests have been made and the car driver involved with the first incident stopped at the scene.

Anyone with information that could assist police relating to the North Circular collision is asked to call 101 quote reference CAD1717/27Oct.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage relating to the Meridian Way incident is asked to call 101 and quote reference CAD 4097/28Oct.

Update (4th November):

Based on initial information received from police this article previously stated there were no reports of a second vehicle in the Meridian Way incident. However, the police have now said a white van was involved and have issued an appeal for information.
