Edmonton Green Shopping Centre has announced Exodus Youth Worx as the winner of its ‘Charity of the Year’ competition.

A pool of 18 local charities nominated by the public was whittled down into a shortlist of four charities, also including Facefront Inclusive Theatre, One-To-One Enfield and Launch It. These went to an online social media vote to determine the winner.

Over the next year, Exodus Youth Worx will be provided by the shopping centre with a year-long platform to raise awareness and funds for their vital work within the Edmonton community.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with Exodus Youth Worx as our Charity of the Year,” said Sam Ibrahim, centre manager at Edmonton Green Shopping Centre.

“Their dedication to supporting young people in our community is truly inspiring, and we are proud to offer them a platform to make a real difference.”

Tara Hanna, director of Exodus Youth Worx, said: “This is such an honour, especially knowing that it was voted for by the people in the community that we work so tirelessly in.

“It will be a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of our life-saving support and services and raise vital funds to ensure that we never have to turn a person away, all the while having lots of fun in Edmonton Green with you all!”

By partnering with Exodus Youth Worx, Edmonton Green Shopping Centre says it aims to demonstrate its commitment to the community’s wellbeing. Benefits for Exodus include free advertising through events and social media, plus help with fundraising and planning events.
