The new Pride of Enfield Fund has been launched with help from a government investment programme aiming to “inspire community pride”

A new £400,000 community grant programme has been launched by Enfield Council.
The Pride of Enfield Fund uses government cash to “help local people achieve projects that improve our neighbourhoods and inspire community pride”.
Last September, the government announced that Enfield would receive £1.5million ‘Pride in Place’ funding as part of a total £5billion investment programme called the Pride in Place Impact Fund.
The council is now inviting local organisations, charities and community groups to apply for funding to “create lasting physical improvements to community facilities, public spaces and town centres” across the borough.
Council leader Ergin Erbil said: “Our neighbourhoods, high streets and parks are at the heart of our communities. We are proud to invest in them. The Pride of Enfield Fund is about putting local people at the centre of improving these wonderful spaces.
“This £400,000 investment will help community groups and local organisations bring forward ideas that make a visible difference. You could upgrade community facilities, improve a public space or make a section of a high street near you more welcoming.
“This fund gives residents, community groups and local community champions the opportunity to turn their ideas into lasting improvements that build pride across our beautiful borough.”
Funding is available for capital projects, with funding prioritised for those which improve community spaces, enhance parks and green spaces, improve high streets and town centres, and achieve green, energy-efficient measures to community buildings.
Applications should be submitted before Monday, 9th March and all funded projects must be completed by 31st December.
