The eleven-storey development would provide 48 homes and stand next to an existing, taller block of flats in Southbury Road

Plans for a new tower block in Enfield have been revealed ahead of a series of consultation events this week.
The eleven-storey development would provide 48 homes and ground-floor commercial space. It would replace an existing two-storey office building in Southbury Road most recently occupied by solicitors firm Martin Shepherd.
The site is situated close to Enfield Town Station but lies outside Enfield Town Conservation Area. Pinnacle House, which rises to 13 storeys tall, stands immediately west of the site, while Royal Mail’s Enfield Delivery Office lies to the south.
While no planning application has yet been submitted, developer Regenta Development Ltd is hosting a number of pre-application consultation events to discuss its plans with the public.
On Tuesday (11th) between 2pm and 7pm the plans will be displayed at the former Martin Shepherd office building, while a webinar is being hosted on Thursday (13th) at 6.30pm.
On its website for the scheme, Regenta says: “The draft pre-application plans for the site seek to provide 48 homes in a new building which will be eleven storeys at its highest point with a step-down to a ‘shoulder’ of five storeys closest to the neighbouring Pinnacle House.
“At ground floor level, new commercial space is proposed alongside the residential entrance and this will have a canopy.

“A new open public domain forecourt with attractive paving and planting is proposed as a positive and safe contribution to pedestrian connectivity. This would also offer a road-side service delivery bay and potential future cycleway separate from the pedestrian route.
“Apart from two car parking spaces dedicated for people with disabilities and accessed off the existing road immediately to west of the site the development is proposed to be car-free given its excellent access to public transport. Internal secure cycle storage will be provided.
“At fifth floor level, play spaces and green spaces are proposed for the use of residents.”
