Reports of more than 30 people, some armed with weapons, fighting in parts of the town centre over recent days

The Metropolitan Police is implementing a dispersal zone in Enfield Town to help officers tackle a recent series of large brawls in the town centre.
The Section 35 dispersal power, in place until midnight tonight (Tuesday 12th), gives officers the authority to move on particular people within the zone and ban them from returning within 48 hours.
The rectangular zone covers the whole of the town centre, from the junction of Willow Road and Southbury Road to the east, the New River to the west, St Andrew’s Church to the north and Dugdale Arts Centre to the south.
The dispersal zone began yesterday afternoon when a notice was posted on social media by the Enfield MPS team. Explaining the background, they stated: “Police have been called to multiple incidents in recent days to reports of youths armed with weapons, incidents of 30+ fighting and innocent members of the public assaulted.”
The Dispatch understands one of these incidents took place around Enfield Town Station on Friday (8th), around 6.30pm, but no arrests were made because the group had moved away by the time police arrived.
