The incident occurred close to the Green Lanes junction with Compton Road

An eight-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car in Winchmore Hill last night (Friday 28th).

The collision took place at 6.43pm in Green Lanes, near the junction with Compton Road. Emergency services attended and the boy was given first aid at the scene before being taken to hospital, where he later died. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and there has been no arrest. Detectives are now appealing for witnesses and those with dash cam footage to come forward.
