Ebony Bain and Warren Campbell on why they launched their unique jobs fair organisation CareerQuest

In today’s ever-changing job market, the path to a fulfilling career can feel uncertain, particularly for young people and those navigating career changes later in life.
That’s why we founded CareerQuest, which is more than just a careers event; it’s a movement designed to help people in Enfield and beyond to unlock opportunities, build networks, and discover their potential.
As local entrepreneurs, we’ve always shared a passion for helping others and creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow. We noticed a gap in the market, as while there are plenty of job fairs, few truly address the needs of the actual person. People don’t just need CV tips; they need confidence, clarity, and connections.
We wanted to create something dynamic, which brought together practical career advice with inspiration, networking, and real job opportunities.
Our combined backgrounds bring this mission to life. Ebony’s expertise is in business and career development, and public speaking. Plus, as a time management specialist and author, she is focused on empowering professionals to balance multiple roles and to thrive in demanding environments. Warren brings deep experience in community development, event organisation, and youth mentoring.
Together, we created CareerQuest to combine practical career guidance with inspiration, networking, and real-world job opportunities. Our vision and what sets us apart is our commitment to inclusivity and representation.
We intentionally prioritise working within the black diaspora where possible and this is a founding principle. Representation matters. When people see themselves reflected in professionals and leaders, their aspirations feel possible too. We consciously collaborate with black-owned businesses, diverse entrepreneurs, and organisations committed to equal opportunity.
Our events come in different formats, but all carry the same core purpose: empowerment through access. These include a variety of activities from networking sessions where attendees meet industry professionals and ask real, personal questions, to our high-powered panel discussions featuring diverse voices who share honest stories of challenges, growth, and success.
We also host keynote speakers who inspire our audiences with powerful messages of resilience and achievement.
Then we have our job and training fairs, offering concrete opportunities, not just theories or ideas. Alongside the main programming, we also offer CV reviews, free LinkedIn headshots and refreshments to create a warm, welcoming environment.
Launching in Enfield was an obvious choice, this is a borough that is full of energy, diversity, and untapped potential. At the same time, we know many local residents face barriers, from young people searching for direction, to adults needing retraining, to communities lacking equal access to opportunity.
As founders rooted in Enfield, we’ve seen this potential first-hand, and we wanted to build something for the community, by the community, with the power to scale nationally.
Running a start-up of this size and ambition isn’t easy, especially with a small core team. But what fuels us is the growing network of volunteers, sponsors, and collaborators who believe in what we’re doing. Every panellist, exhibitor, and supporter helps amplify our mission and every success story fuels our momentum.
Our goal is to grow and to become one of the UK’s leading platforms for career development. We want to see it become a year-round movement of activities. We have plans to launch digital platforms, mentorship programmes, and partnerships with schools and businesses to reach even more people.
At its heart, CareerQuest is about hope and possibility. In a world where job markets shift rapidly, where traditional career paths no longer guarantee stability, and where many people feel excluded from opportunity, we believe your future is worth investing in, and you are not alone on the journey.
We invite the community to get involved, whether by attending, volunteering or partnering with us.
CareerQuest is a collective effort, and together, we can build futures that are brighter, bolder, and more inclusive.
