The incidents took place in Morson Road, Ponders End
Enfield Council has prosecuted two men for separate fly-tipping incidents in Ponders End.
Council officers studied CCTV footage from a mobile waste enforcement camera that showed evidence of Junior Bisima unlawfully dumping various items of waste in Morson Road on 11th September 2023.
Bisima, from Palmers Green, pleaded guilty and was handed a twelve-month community order by a judge at Highbury Magistrates Court. He must now undertake 60 hours of unpaid work and pay the council’s costs.
The council also brought a further fly tipping investigation to court. Lovepreet Singh, from Ilford, fly-tipped a van rear door in Morson Road on 10th January. He was captured committing the environmental crime on a council mobile CCTV waste enforcement camera.
Singh attended an interview under caution at Enfield Civic Centre with the council’s senior waste enforcement officers, where he admitted to fly-tipping the van door.
He was summoned to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on 25th July but failed to attend the court hearing and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Rick Jewell, cabinet member for transport and waste at Enfield Council, said: “I’d like to thank the council’s waste enforcement team for their tireless work and expertise in gathering evidence to help bring fly tippers to justice.
“There is never any excuse to dump your waste on our streets. By working together with our residents, we can identify those who fly-tip in the borough and continue with our work to eradicate this unacceptable antisocial behaviour.”
