A local author and PR expert celebrated the launch of her new book about climate change with a ‘meet the author’ event at Waterstones in Enfield Town.

For her new book What Will Your Legacy Be? Sangeeta Waldron, founder of Serendipity PR, spent the last two years interviewing 36 “global influencers, thought leaders and change makers”, including charity bosses, environmentalists, a Nasa climate scientist and an indigenous leader, delving into topics ranging from science and food to global politics, business, media, arts, music, and more.

Through these conversations, Sangeeta shares “invaluable insights and offers practical tips” to inspire readers to become “climate change aware” and develop a sustainable mindset.

Sangeeta, who has lived in Enfield Town for many years and previously published a book about corporate social responsibility, sat down with Martin Liu from LID Publishing upstairs at Waterstones in Church Street to discuss how the idea for the book had come about and what she’d learned during the writing process.

In attendance at the event were local community leaders including Lover Your Doorstep founder Emma Rigby, Enfield Climate Action Forum’s Francis Sealey, LocalMotion Enfield chief information officer Parin Bahl, Enfield LGBT Network manager Mark Riley and Enfield Community Action Group founder Khalid Sadur.

Sangeeta said afterwards: “It was very special to be supported as a local author by my local community. Communities are important, and it is where positive change happens.”

What Will Your Legacy Be? was released on 30th January and is currently ranked at number 46 on Amazon’s ‘Hot New Reads’ list. It was also presented at this year’s World Economic Forum in Davos.

Sangeeta says she hopes the book will “help readers better understand the pressing environmental challenges facing our world, exploring solutions from individuals, communities, organisations, and nations working to restore the planet” as well as inspire readers to become “climate change aware” and develop “a sustainable mindset”.
