A person is fighting for their life after apparently being hit by a van in Palmers Green.

London Air Ambulance landed in Hazelwood Recreation Ground to convey the victim to hospital following the incident in Green Lanes, close to a bus stop just north of Park Avenue, at around 5.20pm on Sunday (1st).

Police officers and paramedics could be seen trying to save the person’s life for a prolonged period of at least 30 minutes in the street outside Tony’s Pita.

There was visible damage to a wing mirror on a grey Nissan van within the police cordon.

The air ambulance landed in Hazelwood Rec at around 5.35pm and, as of 6.10pm, had yet to take off again.
