The borough now boasts both the best plumber and best painter and decorator in London, according to Checkatrade

Two Enfield tradespeople have been named as the best in London at a prestigious awards ceremony.
At last week’s Checkatrade Regional Awards for London, Richard Mace of Richard Mace & Sons Ltd, based in Palmers Green, picked up the ‘Painter and Decorator of the Year’ award.
On the same night, Chris Efthymiou, who runs The Gas Team Plumbing and Heating Company in Cockfosters, won ‘Plumber of the Year’.
The Checkatrade Awards were created to “shine a spotlight” on tradespeople who “go above and beyond for their customers”. Winners are selected not only for their craftsmanship but also for their “commitment to professionalism, reliability, and helping homeowners feel confident when choosing a trade”.
The Checkatrade Regional Awards for London took place on Wednesday, 17th September, at The Allianz Stadium in Twickenham.
Reacting to being named the best plumber in London, Chris said he was “honoured” to receive the award, and added: “I am grateful for all of my new and existing customers for their continued support. I’m proud to play a vital part in keeping people’s homes running and look forward to continuing to do so.”
Emma Grant, head of trade engagement at Checkatrade, said both Richard and Chris were “deserving winners” and added: “The Checkatrade Awards are all about celebrating the pride and effort our members put into their work, and shining a light on their achievements.
“We’re proud to have backed trades for over 25 years, and even prouder to shine a light on standout work like this.”
The Checkatrade Awards will culminate with a national final at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday, 19th November, where category winners from all of the regional events across the UK, including Richard and Chris, will come together for “the ultimate celebration of trade excellence”.
