A live music event with “exceptional original music” is set to take place at Whitewebbs Park this Sunday.

Live at Whitewebbs Park is being hosted by a “youth-led music community” and will feature a “full live band under a dome like stage”.

The event is taking place near Whitewebbs Park Cafe in the south of the park and runs from 2.30pm-5.30pm on Sunday, 5th October, with free tickets available to book in advance.

Explaining the idea behind the event, organiser Zak Philip from Youth Collective said: “To celebrate the huge public space we love, unfortunately at major risk of being lost, some of London’s finest young musicians will be performing on a never-seen-before stage structure made from the grassroots in North London.

“This event was thought up to reflect a summer of creativity at Communicate Project youth music sessions, through a cause we can all get behind; loss our public space.

“As our group has been based in North London, Whitewebbs Park stuck out like a sore thumb. I found this to be a local story that hit home. Funds and permits were always going to be the barrier for a youth-led event like this, but to build positive PR and raise the funds, I ran and recorded a 27km run between Shepherds Bush Market and Whitewebbs Park.

“Why? To localise two spaces either side of London struggling with new private developers. And after raising enough to keep pushing, this Sunday 5th October we are ready to show the people the passion and energy we have on stage!”
