Perry Scott succeeds Ian Davis as the top non-elected official working at Enfield Civic Centre

Perry Scott has been named as the new permanent chief executive of Enfield Council.
Scott, who has been serving in the non-elected role on an interim basis since March, was recommended for the permanent role “following a rigorous and wide-ranging recruitment process”, according to the council.
The recommendation was made by a cross-party appointments panel and will still be subject to formal approval by all councillors.
It comes after previous chief executive Ian Davis left the council after 17 years to lead Lambeth Council.
Scott had been working as the council’s executive director of environment and communities since January 2024, with a wide range of responsibilities including planning, highways, regulatory services, customer services, communications, libraries, parks, leisure, culture and waste. Prior to Enfield, Scott worked at a number of other local authorities, including Harrow and Hillingdon.
Council leader Ergin Erbil said: “I’m delighted that the members panel has appointed Perry as chief executive, subject to full council approval.
“Perry has driven forward the council’s ambition to build a cleaner, safer and fairer Enfield since joining Enfield as executive director of environment and communities in early 2024.
“As interim chief executive he has led some high profile and successful partnership programmes and initiatives which are making a real difference to the lives of local people.
“Perry has also established positive relationships with regional and central government departments which will be key to drawing in the vital extra resources we need to create a fairer Enfield.
“He is developing an organisation which is inclusive, celebrates diversity and builds the strengths of our talented workforce so that they can continue to provide high quality services for Enfield’s communities, whatever the challenges.”
Scott added: “It is a great honour to have been selected as Enfield Council’s chief executive.
“Since joining Enfield, it has been a pleasure to work with colleagues across the council, the administration led by Cllr Erbil, partner organisations and local communities to improve the borough and deliver great council services.
“I relish this opportunity to provide even better public services and a borough that offers a lifetime of opportunities for local people.”
