Marley and Daisy wanted to help two-year-old Lucy cope with partial paralysis, report Joe Ives

Two Enfield children raised over £700 in a single afternoon to support their cousin who has a brain tumour – by selling lemonade.
Marley, aged eight, and Daisy, five, ran the hugely successful lemonade stand outside their home in Windmill Gardens, World’s End, to support their two-year-old cousin Lucy.
Lucy spent most of last year in hospital and needs physical therapy as the tumour has left her partially paralysed and unable to speak, as well as severely impairing her vision.
“Everyone has been incredible,” said Emmy Beazley-Williams, proud mum of Marley and Daisy, adding that maybe they should “get in touch with Alan Sugar!”.
The entrepreneurial pair managed to drum up 80 customers for their stand in just two hours on Saturday (14th), raising £737.47 on the day and £115 online in the days that followed.
Emmy said the community offered “amazing” support, including a table and bunting as well as baked treats to help Marley and Daisy. But the kids organised most of the event themselves.
Alongside physiotherapy, the family hopes to get an adapted camper van so Lucy can go out and enjoy some trips after spending so much of her life too unwell to travel.
“At the moment [Lucy] can’t move and she really wan ts to,” added Emmy, who is Lucy’s aunt.
Marley and Daisy have put up posters around the area and gave instructions for Emmy to send out messages to community WhatsApp groups to raise support.
Although much of the future is uncertain for Lucy, the ongoing love and support from her two cousins looks to be unwavering. “The children are absolutely amazing with her,” Emmy said. “They just absolutely adore her. She is without a doubt their best friend.”
So far, the family have raised over £11,000 to support Lucy in total, but are still short of their £14,000 target.
