Connections offers a range of care and activities for older people or those who need care, as well as respite for carers

Enfield Carers Centre has announced the opening of a new day care centre for adults in Ponders End.
Connections opened its doors for the first time this month in a refurbished space in Queensway, just off Ponders End High Street.
It offers a range of care and activities for older people or those who need care, as well as respite for carers, complementing the award-winning carer support services that Enfield Carers Centre already provides.
The charity’s chief executive Pam Burke said: “We are excited about opening our doors here in Ponders Ends and extending the support we provide to unpaid carers.
“We know we need more services for people receiving care, so that unpaid carers have flexible options for combining their caring responsibilities with work, or to simply take a break, and manage their own health and wellbeing.
“Connections has been purpose built with users in mind, offering care in a new space provided by qualified, trained staff. Clients can expect services that are delivered with dignity and respect from fully-trained staff in a safe and secure location.
“We are delighted to bring new interest and opportunity to this area of Enfield and pleased to confirm also that Connections’ spaces are available for hire at weekends and evenings.“
Enfield Carers Centre was established in 2010 as a charity providing information, advice, training and support to unpaid carers.
Last year Enfield Carers Centre was awarded a caring services contract with Enfield Council to continue to provide specialist information, advice and events in the borough for another nine years until 2034.
Enfield Carers Centre also won an ‘Excellence For Carers’ award from Carers Trust in 2025.
