Enfield Chasers Running Club was set up in 2023 by a pair of neighbours who wanted to use running as a way to build a community in the Enfield area.

What started as a casual conversation between friends quickly became something more. We weren’t trying to set up a performance-driven club or compete with other local groups, we just wanted to create something that felt welcoming, consistent, and rooted in the neighbourhood we live in.

Our aim was simple: use running as the common thread to bring people together. Wednesday social runs were the first step.

Free, open to everyone, and focused more on meeting people than clocking miles. From there it’s grown into something we’re proud of. We now have over 250 runners in our WhatsApp group, 150 affiliated members, and a calendar full of community events.

We’ve hosted ‘Couch to 5K’ programmes, volunteering days, time trials, tree plantings, pub socials, and even an annual Christmas lights run. It turns out, when you give people a reason to show up, and make them feel welcome when they do, good things happen!

We’re still a young club, and we like it that way. We want to grow steadily and stay true to our original ethos: to create a friendly, inclusive space where anyone, no matter their pace, background, or level of experience, can show up, feel part of something, and enjoy the benefits that come from moving together.

So if you’re local to Enfield and curious about running, or just want to meet some good people, we’d love for you to come along.
