Lee Robinson, who works in Enfield Island Village, rode more than 7,000 miles around the UK coastline to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society

The boss of an Enfield cleaning company has completed a sweep of the UK’s coastline – on a jet ski.
Lee Robinson, managing director at Atlantic Cleaning Services Ltd, based in Enfield Island Village, has just ridden more than 7,000 miles around the UK coastline to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society.
He completed the journey in memory of his mum Phyllis, who lost her life to dementia, and for his father-in-law Jim who is currently living with dementia.
Lee also raised an equal amount of funds for the MS Society, to honour his best friend John Duncan who completed the first stand-up jet ski return crossing of the English Channel in 1990 with Lee, and who now lives with MS.
In total, he raised more than £20,000.
Lee said: “Raising funds for Alzheimer’s Society is deeply personal. My mother Phyllis lost her life to Alzheimer’s after a long illness and my father Stephen passed months later in September 2025. My father-in-law, Jim Embleton, a yacht master for more than 60 years, was forced to give up the sea he loved because of the same disease, which was heart-breaking for him and for my wife Allison. I also wanted to honour my best friend, John Duncan”.
Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. An average of one-in-three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime.
Lee continued: “We decided to fundraise for Alzheimer’s Society because dementia affects so many people. It’s important to me to support the charity as they provide help and hope for everyone affected by dementia. Alzheimer’s (and MS) don’t just affect health — they change lives, families, and futures. I am so moved that so many people have donated to our challenge, to fund research, care, and hope for those facing these conditions every day. Thank you so much for supporting Alzheimer’s Society and the MS Society.”
Seema Pirbhai, Alzheimer’s Society’s community fundraiser in North London, said: “We are so grateful that Lee has chosen to support Alzheimer’s Society. Each hour people generously give to fundraise for us, every event they take part in, every pound they donate, they’re making a life-changing difference to people living with dementia.
“Alzheimer’s Society provides vital support to people living with dementia, funds groundbreaking research and campaigns to make dementia the priority it should be. It will take a society to beat dementia.
“There are around a million people living with dementia in the UK including more than 87,000 in London. We all have a role to play in ending the devastation dementia causes. We simply can’t reach everyone who needs us without the continued support of our incredible fundraisers like Lee.”
