Author donates copies of latest books to Palmers Green Library

Stephen Cox says he wants to support literacy and choice for those on limited budgets

A Palmers Green author has donated copies of his two most recent books to his local library.

Stephen Cox’s new book, The Crooked Medium’s Guide to Terror will be available at Palmers Green Library from publication day on Monday (14th). His previous book in the series, The Crooked Medium’s Guide to Murder, is already available at the library.

The author explains: “For a bookish child, my local library was an amazing resource and I took out five books a week. Like most authors, I am a big supporter. I don’t see the many readers of each copy as ‘lost’ readers because we are supporting literacy, choice and those on limited budgets.”

Regarding the two books in the Crooked Medium series, Stephen adds: “These are queer, spooky, Victorian mysteries with two older women heroines at odds with Victorian morality.

“Readers praise the extraordinary characters, the twisty plots and the immersive settings. They’re warm and witty, but not cosy.”

Stephen is a speaker and workshop organiser, as well as an author, and has lived and raised his family in Palmers Green since 2004. He has now published five books through traditional and self-published routes.
