More regular services will now operate on the 121, W4 and W6 routes

Three North London bus routes will see increased frequencies and longer running from February.
Route 121 between Enfield Island Village and Turnpike Lane Bus Station will now operate every ten minutes instead of every 15 minutes during the day on Sundays from 9am until around 7.30pm.
Route W4, between the North Circular at Palmers Green and Ferry Lane in Tottenham Hale, will now operate every 15 minutes instead of every 20 minutes before 7.30am on weekdays, every 15 minutes instead of every 20 minutes before 8.30am on Saturdays and every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes before 10.15am on Sundays. On Sundays the first buses will now also start earlier meaning customers can benefit from buses an hour earlier.
Route W6, between Southgate Station and Edmonton Green Station, via North Middlesex Hospital, will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 20 minutes before 7.15am on weekdays, every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes before 7am on Saturdays, every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes before 9am on Sundays and every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes on all evenings of the week (after 8pm on Monday to Fridays and 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays).
The first W4 buses on Sunday will now start 90 minutes earlier, while the last buses will also operate 45 minutes later than they currently do on all days of the week. Transport for London (TfL) says this will help to improve late night interchange between buses and rail or tube services at Edmonton Green, Palmers Green and Southgate stations.
Bob Blitz, TfL’s bus network planning manager, said: “We continually work to improve and adapt our bus network according to customer demand, offering affordable and sustainable public transport options where possible. Working with local councils and partners, we constantly monitor and review our bus network to ensure our bus services reflect current customer demands, continuing to improve public transport for people in the local area and beyond.”
The changes to the 121, W4 and W6 come on top of improvements to route 329 between Enfield Town and Turnpike Lane that came into force three weeks ago. The 329 is now running every 8-9 minutes instead of every 10-12 minutes before 7am on weekdays; every 8-9 minutes instead of every 10-12 minutes before 8.15am on Saturdays; and every 8-9 minutes instead of every 10-12 minutes before 9.30am on Sundays.
TfL says it will keep these changes under “close review” to ensure demand continues to be met.
