The artwork by artist Agwa was inspired by former Enfield poet John Keats

A new artwork inspired by former Enfield poet John Keats now adorns Enfield Town Library.
The new mural To Autumn by artist Agwa is inspired by Keats’ poem of the same name and celebrates the town centre’s literary heritage and its connection to nature.
As part of the art project Agwa delivered a workshop with students at St Anne’s School, with pupils helping to create visual responses to the poem.
The most popular motifs highlighted by the students included fruitfulness, flowers, bees, sunrise, ripeness, and bright colours. Agwa used these motifs to create and develop the design for the artwork, with local residents also given the opportunity to offer feedback and vote for their favourite colours to be used.
The project was funded by Enfield Council as part of its ongoing Enfield Town Liveable Neighbourhood scheme.
