A youth charity is providing somewhere free for any local people to come and cool down during the extreme heatwave

An Enfield charity has opened a ‘cool space’ in Southgate for residents to take refuge from the extreme heat.
As temperatures are forecast to reach 40C in North London, on what is already the hottest June day on record, Enfield Children and Young Person’s Services (ECYPS) is inviting local people to spend time at the relatively cool Alan Pullinger Youth Centre in John Bradshaw Road, just off Southgate High Street in the town centre.
Carina Moore-Moscattini, a youth co-ordinator with the charity, said: “People can come in to sit in our cool building, have access to free glasses of water and fans.
“We are an accessible venue for wheelchair users and we have accessible toilets too.”
The ‘cool space’ will be open between 11am and 3pm both today (Wednesday 24th) and tomorrow (Thursday 25th).
