Double award win for Enfield entrepreneur

Sangeeta Waldron’s business Serendipity PR has been recognised in two categories of the Greater London Enterprise Awards 2026

A public relations entrepreneur from Enfield has been recognised with two awards.

Serendipity PR & Media is run by Sangeeta Waldron, from Enfield Town, who is celebrating a double win at the SME News Greater London Enterprise Awards 2026.

The business was named ‘Best Purpose-Led PR Services Provider 2026’ and also won the ‘Communications Impact Excellence Award 2026’.

Serendipity PR was established in 2009, during the global recession, and is still going strong 17 years later. Sangeeta is also an author of books, including one about climate change.

Regarding the recent award wins, she said: “Being a woman in business has been an adventure. I had never run a business before. My mum had done it, and I thought, well, if she could, so could I. Nothing prepared me for how tough it would be.

“I have learned new skills and added many more strings to my ever-bending bow. I have been in rooms where I was the only woman, and then the only woman of colour. I have been told that women shouldn’t be in business. I’ve had men talk to my chest instead of my face.

“I started my own business for lots of reasons. We were in a global recession, we’d just started a family, childcare was extortionate and, with no family nearby to help, running my own business, while working from home seemed like the way forward. I was ahead of the game way before today’s hybrid working.

“I made rookie mistakes. I gave ideas away. I didn’t always get paid. Yes, I cried a lot and juggled a lot, had to take our young son with me to a business meeting during the school holidays… he became a client hit!

“And I ran everywhere…school drop-offs, school pick-ups, for trains, meetings… and I also laughed a lot, usually at myself.

“But, as the cliché goes, I wouldn’t change it.”

Sangeeta added that she wished to thank all her clients who have used Serendipity over the last 17 years. “I am here because of you,” she said.
