An Enfield man has been charged with triple murder.

Kyle Clifford, aged 26 and of Rendlesham Road, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tuesday 17th) charged with three counts of murder, false imprisonment and two counts of possession of offensive weapons.

The former Chace Community School pupil was the subject of a nearly day-long manhunt around Enfield after the bodies of Carol, Hannah and Louise Hunt, the wife and daughters of racing commentator John Hunt, were discovered at their home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, on Tuesday, 9th July.

Clifford was eventually found at Lavender Hill Cemetery, near Hilly Fields Park, at around 5.30pm on Wednesday, 10th July, and was arrested two days later while he remained in hospital for treatment to an injury.

Officers had previously been unable to interview Kyle Clifford because of his ongoing treatment, but have now done so.

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Gardner, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the Hunt family and their loved ones as they continue to come to terms with their loss.

“Over the past couple of months, we have been working hard to gather as much evidence as possible and establish the full circumstances of what happened that day. We have now managed to secure charges against Kyle Clifford in connection with the murders of Carol, Hannah and Louise Hunt.

“Although it has taken some time to reach this stage, we can now move forward with the judicial process and seek justice for their family.”
