Eliseo Ubor, aged twelve, won the under-14s title at the English Karate Federation National Championships

A boy from Enfield has won a national title for his age group.
Eliseo Ubor, aged twelve, won the under-14s title at the English Karate Federation National Championships, held at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield over the weekend of 12th-13th April.
Earlier this month, Eliseo had travelled to Spain to compete in the prestigious K1 World Youth League tournament, the highest level of competition for his age group. Although he was unable to medal on that occasions, his performances gained him an invite to trial with the English national team.
Eliseo had also previously won a bronze medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Karate Championships.
Proud dad Keke said: “Karate has been a great benefit to him and he has many role models in the sport who are helping to guide him.
“Eliseo will be travelling to Croatia in June to compete in his second K1 tournament and is currently looking for sponsorship to help fund his passion. He hopes to compete in the 2032 Olympic games and currently trains five days a week.”
Eliseo’s coach, Brandon Wilkins, is a senior member of the England karate team and will be competing in the European championship in Yerevan, Armenia, next month.
From the age of five, Eliseo learnt karate through the Jade Honeywood Karate Academy which runs in some Enfield primary schools, before transferring to a specialist training centre led by Brandon in Essex last year.
