Free family events as well as paid-for experiences and shows to help Enfield residents celebrate the annual autumn festival

A series of “spooktacular” events are being planned around Enfield this month.
The Halloween celebrations include a pumpkin hunt in Palmers Green, a frightfully fun family event in Enfield Town and haunted gardens in Bulls Cross.
Green Lanes Business Association is again hosting its popular pumpkin trail on Saturday 31st, with families invited to spot the pumpkins in shop windows around Palmers Green town centre.
First prize for the winner is a Nintendo Switch Lite console and Mario Kart game, but there is also a gift for every participant. Completed entry forms should be returned to Peter Michael Estates & Lettings, at 58 Alderman’s Hill. In addition, The Fox is hosting a ‘mini monster disco’ from 4pm-8pm on the same day.
At Palace Gardens Shopping Centre in Enfield Town, families can enjoy a frightfully fun half-term event on Wednesday 28th, from 11am-3pm, with free entry. There will be “tricks, treats and plenty of spooky entertainment for children and families to enjoy throughout the day”.
This includes Bread and Butter Street Theatre bringing their popular zombie disco to the shopping centre, inviting youngsters to get dancing to a selection of terrifying Halloween tunes. There will be lots of tricks and games too, and prizes for the best fancy dress outfits.

Visitors can also meet a cast of fabulous Halloween characters, including Belladonna the Witch and her giant Venus fly-trap, along with Artemis, a very pesky giant fly. Children can meet Esmerelda the Green Witch, who will be walking on stilts, as well as a mysterious Woodland Witch. And for those brave enough, there will be a chance to play ‘trick or treat’ with the Fright Bike – if they dare!
There will also be a free Halloween craft workshop, where children can create their own bats, cats, witches and other spooky creations to take home.
At Capel Manor Gardens in Bulls Cross, between Monday 26th and Saturday 31st (10am-4pm), visitors can enjoy “spooky surprises, creepy crafts, live entertainment, animals, dancing and more”.
The gardens will be transformed for the week into 30 acres of haunted gardens, an immersive horror maze, and pick-your-own pumpkin patch. Children can also get creative with creepy crafts, meet the mini zoo animals and dance the day away in a deadly disco tent!
Pre-booked entry tickets for children, at £16, include a pumpkin and bouncy castle token. Adults can enter for £12. Bookings can be made here.
Finally, at Dugdale Arts Centre in Enfield Town from 11am on Saturday 31st, an hour-long “spooktacular” theatre show called ‘Trick & Treat Circus Live’ will feature “family-friendly characters, rib-tickling laughter, mind-blowing magic, fang-tastic tricks and treats galore”.
Suitable for young children, this spooky experience will get the whole family in the Halloween spirit. Tickets, at £13.50 for children and £15.50 for adults, can be bought here.
