The facility run by Springcare is intended for families in need of facilitated support services and supervised contact

Enfield mayor Emma Supple cut the ribbon to officially open a new independently-run family support centre in Edmonton.
At the grand opening event on Friday (26th), children, families, professionals and community partners came together to celebrate the launch of the new Springcare Support Services Family Support Centre.
The event marked a significant milestone for Springcare Support Services, which has been supporting children, young people and
families across London since 2010. The new child contact centre offers a “welcoming, inclusive and specialist environment for children and families”.
Located at 211 Fore Street, the purpose-built centre has been carefully designed to provide a “safe, child-centred environment where children can spend meaningful time with their families and access specialist support”. It is designed primarily for families that are in need of facilitated support, such as those requiring supervised contact with a parent who doesn’t live with their child.
However, there is also a soft play space that can be hired by all families.
The centre includes a dedicated sensory-friendly room designed specifically for autistic children, children with disabilities and those with additional sensory needs; three purpose-designed family contact/play rooms; supervised and supported family contact services; parenting support services; community activities and engagement programmes; and flexible spaces for professionals working with children and families.
The support centre has also been designed using sustainable materials and “child-centred principles”, incorporating underfloor
heating, soundproofed contact rooms, accessible facilities and “calming interiors” to “create an environment where children feel safe, relaxed and supported”.
Joanne Boateng-Duah, a director of Springcare Support Services, said: “Opening our Family Support Centre has been a vision many years in the making. Since 2010, our mission has been to support children and strengthen families within our communities. We have developed particular expertise in supporting children with disabilities, autistic children and young people with additional needs, and we wanted to create a centre where every family feels welcomed, valued and understood.
“We are incredibly proud to bring this unique resource to Enfield and were honoured to welcome the mayor to officially open the centre.
“We hope the centre will become a place where families feel supported, children flourish, and lasting positive memories are
created.”
