May Day tea dance for the over-60s in Grange Park

Home Instead Enfield is organising the event in aid of Home Instead Charities

A ‘May Day tea dance’ is being held in Grange Park for the over-60s in Enfield.

Home Instead Enfield, which runs a bi-weekly Memory Lunch Club for the elderly community in Grange Park, has decided to do something different for the May Day Bank Holiday on Monday 6th.

Alexandra Sacker, Owner of Home Instead Enfield, says: “We organised a tea dance for the Queen’s jubilee two years ago, it was a roaring success. The joy we saw on people’s faces, everyone getting up to dance and being able to spend a couple of hours in the company of others – it was priceless.

“We have therefore decided to do it again, this time on the first May bank holiday Monday and we have a fabulous programme that involves music and dance as well as plenty of cups of tea with sandwiches and a lovely traditional Victoria sponge cake.

“Working with the elderly community on a day-to-day basis, we have long recognised the need for companionship based support and we are really happy and excited to be able to offer this event.”

Proceeds from the event will be supporting Home Instead Charities, who are celebrating their ten-year anniversary this year. The charity supports local projects and last year was able to pay for a coach to take 60 people from Enfield to Southend on Silver Sunday.

Tickets cost £17.50. For more information contact Home Instead Enfield:
