Nearly £5,000-worth of new stationery donated to Enfield schools

Enfield Town Schools Partnership (ETSP) launched a stationery appeal earlier this year to raise funds to supply 19 local schools

Nearly £5,000 has been raised following an appeal for help buying new stationery across a group of Enfield schools.

Enfield Town Schools’ Partnership (ETSP), a collaboration of 19 local schools, launched its appeal last spring after warning that standard equipment in schools was “desperately limited” and that this was “creating barriers to learning for many children”.

Since April, ETSP says it has raised more than £4,700 to supply stationery to its partner schools across Enfield, helping to ensure that pupils have the resources they need to thrive in their learning.

The campaign was given a kick-start by entering Tesco’s ‘Stronger Starts’ competition, securing second place and being awarded a grant of £1,000. Further support was received from a range of charities and organisations including EVO Foundation, Markers fore Mindfulness, Ropes & Gray and Office Stationery.

Hilary Ballantine, chair of ETSP, said: “This initiative shows the power of community collaboration. When schools, businesses, and the local community come together, we can create real change and support the next generation in Enfield.”

ETSP distributed all the new supplies to Enfield headteachers at its recent annual seminar day. These included boxes of glue, marker pens, coloured paper and more.

Marianne Enchill-Balogun, chair of schools at ETSP, added: “These supplies make a real difference in our classrooms, ensuring every child has the tools they need to learn, create, and achieve their best. Support like this helps us focus on what really matters — giving every pupil the chance to succeed.”
