Adrian Day has been hired to help support delivery of a “vibrant, inclusive and sustainable town centre”

A newly-relaunched action group aiming to support organisations based across Enfield Town has appointed a new chair.
Previously known as Enfield Town Steering Group, Enfield Town Action Team is made up of representatives from cultural, voluntary, business and public sector organisations across the local area.
In its new guise and following a “robust chair recruitment process”, Enfield Town Action Team has appointed Adrian Day as its independent chair to support the delivery of its shared vision for a “vibrant, inclusive and sustainable town centre”.
Adrian, who says he is “excited by the opportunity”, is an experienced brand and communications consultant who has also previously been involved locally with active travel groups including Better Streets for Enfield.
Since its relaunch last year, Enfield Town Action Team has been working to co-ordinate existing activities and launch new initiatives to improve the town centre.
Adrian’s role as chair is funded for one year, supported by local developer contributions.
Over the next year, Adrian will support the group’s ambitions, providing “strategic, independent and inclusive leadership” including developing a fundraising strategy to sustain the group’s activities in future years.
Adrian said: “I’m excited by the opportunity to help the Enfield Town Action Team revitalise and improve Enfield Town for all.
“The town is at the heart of a London borough of over 300,000 people and has great potential to be an important destination for retail, hospitality, work, entertainment, culture and leisure.
“I have lived in the borough for over 30 years and prior to that fondly remember the excitement of visiting the town as a child from a nearby village. It’s great to see businesses, public bodies, community bodies and charities are already working together effectively in the group.
“I look forward to supporting the members to deliver an ambitious programme for change, helping Enfield Town to be a place of which we can all be proud.”
The Action Team is currently developing a programme of events and activities, supported by UK Shared Prosperity Funding, to help “animate” Enfield Town centre over the summer.
