Artist support charity Theatre Deli has opened applications for its flagship artistic residency opportunity – with a new focus on the borough of Enfield.

The 2025 programme will select four artists who will receive a package of two weeks of paid development time and creative support, over £2,000 in funding, plus a work-in-progress sharing of their performance project at Dugdale Arts Centre in Enfield Town.

This year, two of the residencies will go to artists living in Enfield, reflecting the fact that Enfield has historically had lower levels of cultural investment and engagement than other London boroughs. The remaining two residencies are open to all artists within convenient travel distance of central London.

Theatre Deli has partnered with the Dugdale to host work-in-progress displays from all Theatre Deli residency artists, after their two-week development period at Theatre Deli Leadenhall Street in the City of London.

Theatre Deli’s chair, Pam Fraser Solomon, said: “As an Enfield resident I am overjoyed that our charity is working in Enfield for the first time, and sharing its creative resources and expertise with artists in the borough. In recent years, projects supported by Theatre Deli residencies at the very beginning of their life have gone on to tour nationally and internationally.

“I look forward to meeting this year’s residency artists and seeing the brilliant work they develop with us.”

The residency programmes are for artists who make work for performance including theatre, storytelling, dance, movement, performance art, circus, experimental work, art activism, installation, interactive and immersive performance.

Sarisha Kumar, the Dugdale’s venue and cultural programme manager, said: “Dugdale Arts Centre is excited to be partnering with Theatre Deli on their artist residency programme and support this fantastic opportunity for artists to develop their practice, connect with new audiences, and bring fresh creative energy into Enfield.”

Applications are open now and close on Monday, 4th August, at 10am. More details about the programme and how to apply can be found online:
