They were hit by a London Overground train at Lincoln Road level crossing
A person remains in a “critical condition” in hospital after being struck by a London Overground train last night (Thursday 25th) on an Enfield level crossing.
Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just before 11.30pm on the Lincoln Road level crossing, near Enfield Town Station. The crossing is used by pedestrians and cyclists only and is accessed via a gate, which is manned by a crossing operator during the day but left open at night.
A BTP spokesperson said: “Officers and paramedics attended and person was taken to hospital for medical examination. The incident is not thought to be suspicious.”
Alice Kay was a passenger travelling on the train involved in the incident last night and told the Dispatch: “We were on the train but had no idea what happened for ages and we didn’t get moving for around an hour after they apparently brought in a replacement driver.
“We think the person survived and was taken away in an ambulance.”
