Phone theft warning in Enfield Town after spate of incidents

Many of the incidents are occurring at bus stops, outside stations and at pavement junctions

Neighbourhood police officers in Enfield are warning about a recent spate of phone thefts.

In a recent update sent out to residents, officers warned that “a number of phone thefts have been reported recently in Enfield Town and across the borough”.

One particular suspect is said to be “utilising an e-bike and is often wearing dark clothing, occasionally a hi-vis jacket and a face covering”.

Many of the incidents are occurring at bus stops, outside stations and at pavement junctions.

People are being urged to “remain vigilant and keep all valuables out of sight where possible”.

Enfield Town Safer Neighbourhoods Team have been patrolling the town centre and putting up posters for awareness at bus stops.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to call 101, report online or anonymously via Crimestoppers. People are also urged to keep a written record of their IMEI number.
