Shooting victim remains ‘critical’ as police appeal for witnesses

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was injured in a shooting at a bar in Enfield Highway.

Police are investigating the shooting which happened at 1.40am last Tuesday (13th) at the Cora Lounge in Alma Road, EN3.

Police were called to the incident, however the victim was identified at 2.25am that morning after emergency services were called to the injured man at a location in Haringey. The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. The man’s family have been informed.

An investigation is under way and detectives would like to hear from anyone with information about the shooting.

Detective Inspector David Hickford, from the investigation team, said: “This shooting has left a man seriously injured and we have carried out extensive enquiries since the attack to establish what happened.

“We know many people were in the bar at the time and many have not come forward. They may have information that could be vital to our investigation and I urge them to come forward. We need to speak with anyone who was there, whether they believe they saw anything significant or not.

“Gun crime has no place on the streets of London. Thankfully, incident of this kind are incredibly rare in the capital. We are doing all we can to track down whoever is responsible.”
