Enfield Women’s Centre is now receiving donations directly from shoppers at a popular soap retailer in Enfield Town.

The Body Shop supports women who have experienced trauma such as violence, assault and financial deprivation and its Enfield branch manager recently met Barbara Le Fevre and Laurie Dengel from Enfield Women’s Centre to offer help.

Ayfer Kucukbalaban, manager of The Body Shop in Palace Gardens Shopping Centre, has now set up a donation point to encourage customers to donate goods that will be passed to Enfield Women’s Centre for the women they support.

Ginnie Landon from Enfield Women’s Centre said: “These are women from a range of backgrounds, generally referred to the centre via various professionals (social services, NHS, etc) for support following trauma.

“Generally the women go without while they fight for their families, so it is good to be able to offer them a much needed pick-me-up and validation that they are worthwhile.

“These gifts [from The Body Shop’s customers] are a wonderful way of showing women and girls who have been worn down, that people care, they matter.”

Enfield Women’s Centre is a charity based in Derby Road, Ponders End. For more information:
