Residents are being invited to parades and memorial services in the borough to mark Remembrance Sunday on 13th November.

The events in Enfield Town, Edmonton Green and Southgate will commemorate the sacrifices of those who lost their lives in the two world wars and other more recent world conflicts.

Gina Needs, Enfield Council’s cabinet member for community safety and cohesion, said: “Remembrance Sunday honours those who have made and continue to make the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

“I’d like to invite all residents to join us at the services and wreath laying in Edmonton Green, Enfield Town and Southgate, to welcome the Royal British Legion, our soldiers, young and old who will be remembering those who have lost their lives on this important day of remembrance.”

Three Remembrance Sunday memorial services, plus two parades, will be held in the borough as follows:

  • Edmonton Green: Edmonton Green War Memorial in Fore Street, from 10.45am (parade to the war memorial leaves St Martin’s Road car park at 10.30am)
  • Enfield Town: Enfield Cenotaph in Windmill Hill, from 3pm (parade from the cenotaph to the civic centre starts at 3.30pm)
  • Southgate: St Andrew’s Church in Chase Side, from 10am
