What started as a power issue has now become a serious water leak lasting nearly three days

Traffic chaos has continued for a third day in Enfield Town – thanks to Thames Water failing to show up to fix a leak.
Windmill Hill was first closed on Tuesday (26th) amid reports of a power cut locally, with UK Power Networks needing to fix an underground cable beneath the carriageway.
However, a significant water leak was subsequently discovered, and Thames Water was called in to fix it. Two days later, they have yet to arrive.
When the Dispatch was on the scene on Thursday (28th) at around 4pm, UK Power Networks staff were sat in their van unable to continue their work and reopen the road, because of the water leak.
Six bus routes use Windmill Hill and all have been on diversion since Tuesday, with the two bus stops which serve Enfield Chase Station both closed.
Thames Water could not be reached for comment.
Update (Tuesday, 2nd September):
Thames Water has now shown up, but says the road is not expected to reopen until Friday (5th). Six bus routes remain on diversion.
Update (Thursday, 4th September):
The road has reopened.
