After several years of renovation work, Trent Park House is finally set to reopen to the public next spring

A new café is set to open next year in Trent Park – and potential operators are now being sought.
After several years of renovation work, Trent Park House is finally set to reopen to the public next spring, with a museum dedicated to the building’s role as a prisoner-of-war camp in the 1940s forming the centrepiece of it.
A café for visitors is also now being planned. Housed in the mansion’s former dining room, it will be an “elegant and welcoming space” according to Trent Park Museum Trust, acting as a “focus for visitors before and after their museum experience” as well as becoming a hub for both local residents and park users.
The café will have indoor seating for approximately 40 customers and a “spacious outdoor terrace” for around 30, and the museum trust wants there to be an emphasis on “quality, local provenance, and sustainability” while “providing an inviting and memorable experience”.
Trent Park House of Secrets director Giuseppe Albano said: “One of the most exciting things about our project to bring Trent Park House back to life for the Enfield community and beyond is the creation of the café.
“This will be located in the blue room, a light-filled state room overlooked by a Rex Whistler mural and looking onto the east terrace. We’re now looking for the the right catering partner to bring our vision to life – and we welcome applications from any local catering companies or establishments to help us realise this vision.”
Potential operators are invited to submit expressions of interest before Friday, 19th September.
