On Friday, 15th November 2024, Edmonton Green hosted its annual Christmas Lights Switch-On, and what a spectacular evening it was! North Square transformed into a snow and ice paradise, filled with lights, live performances, and festive activities for all ages.
Free Ice Skating
Visitors glided into the festive season on our synthetic ice rink, enjoying the thrill of skating without the chill! Open from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM, the rink welcomed skaters of all ages, with skating aids available for younger children.
Live Performances
Local talents took to the stage from 5:30 PM, providing fantastic music and entertainment that set the festive mood. The performances led beautifully into the countdown to the Christmas Light Switch-On.
Special Appearances and Entertainment
Guests were thrilled by our stilt walkers and a special visit from Eddie the Elephant, who brought extra cheer and Christmas spirit to the celebration.
Seasonal Treats
Our giveaway station delighted visitors with free hot chocolate and snowy white candy floss, keeping everyone warm and festive throughout the evening.
Free Gift
The first 150 children received free festive gifts, adding excitement and joy to the start of their Christmas season.
Snowy Surprises
Magical snowfall filled North Square, thanks to snow machines, creating a festive winter spectacle for everyone to enjoy.
Photo-Worthy Displays
The illuminated arch and beautiful snow-dusted Christmas trees provided the perfect backdrop for capturing memories, while the sparkling light displays added to the Christmas atmosphere.
Christmas Light Switch-On
At 6:30 PM, the event concluded with the grand Christmas Lights Switch-On. The moment North Square lit up in lights was met with cheers and applause, proving there truly is snow place like Edmonton Green to kick off the festive season!
