Appeal for witnesses after pedestrian killed by van in Green Lanes

It has now been confirmed that the man hit by a van in Palmers Green on Sunday later died in hospital

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information after it was confirmed that a man hit by a van in Palmers Green on Sunday (1st) had later died in hospital.

The Metropolitan Police were called at approximately 5.20pm to reports of a collision between a van and a pedestrian in Green Lanes, just north of the junction with Park Avenue.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene with Green Lanes being cordoned off as the man was treated by paramedics. London Air Ambulance also assisted after landing in Hazelwood Rec.

Sadly, the man – aged in his 50s – later died in hospital. Enquiries are ongoing to identify and inform the man’s next of kin.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made at this time as enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
