A 62-year-old was violently assaulted while sat on a bench in the middle of a Friday afternoon

Detectives investigating the violent assault of a 62-year-old man in an Enfield park have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to.
The victim was sat on a bench in Town Park at around 2pm on Friday, 26th June, when a man he didn’t know assaulted him. The victim sustained a broken jaw.
As part of a public appeal, the police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to. He is described as being white, of tall build and with short black hair and facial hair, wearing a black T-shirt and blue shorts.
Detective Inspector Allen Windsor, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was a highly alarming incident, which has left the victim and his family in distress.
“Despite the best efforts to identify the man, we are now appealing to the public for further information.
“Nobody should be attacked like this. We believe this to be an isolated incident and we remain committed to identifying and bringing the perpetrator to justice – can you help?”
Anyone who recognises the man – or who has information – should call the police on 101, quoting 01/7739620/26. Alternatively, a 100% anonymous report can be made via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
