A 17-year-old boy was declared dead at the scene of the crash in Elsinge Road

A driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a 17-year-old e-bike rider was killed in Bullsmoor last night (Sunday 4th).
Police were called at 10.56pm to reports of a collision in Elsinge Road, where the e-bike rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, which had hit the e-bike, was a 60-year-old man. He was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink. He remains in custody.
Detective Inspector Simon Ager, from the Metropolitan Police Service, said: “Our thoughts remain with the boy’s family and loved ones as they come to terms with this tragic loss.
“We are working at pace to establish the full circumstances around the collision, and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. Any piece of information you have could be crucial in our investigation.
“I am asking anyone who was in the area at the time, or may have captured CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage to contact police as soon as possible.”

Sunday’s incident was the sixth fatal collision on Enfield’s roads this year, and the second within the space of a fortnight after a car passenger was killed in Southgate last month.
