The award highlights North Star Community Trust’s commitment to “educational excellence and community involvement”
An Edmonton-based academy trust has been named ‘Multi Academy Trust of the Year’ after triumphing over more than 1,000 others nationwide.
The honour for North Star Community Trust was bestowed by the Confederation of School Trusts (CST), which organise the national Awards for Excellence.
North Star, based in Cuckoo Hall Lane, runs Heron Hall Academy, Woodpecker Hall Academy, Kingfisher Hall Academy and Enfield Heights Academy.
The award highlights North Star’s commitment to “educational excellence and community involvement”.
Marino Charalambous, trust CEO, said: “Winning the Multi Academy Trust of the Year Award is a fantastic achievement that recognises the hard work of our staff, children, parents, trustees, governors, and the communities we serve.
“Our journey has been about breaking down barriers, driving up standards, and empowering families and individuals through innovation, dedication, and a deep understanding of local needs.
“The whole team at North Star have an unshakable conviction in the power of education to transform lives.”
North Star was also a finalist in the ‘Community Trust of the Year’ category but just fell short of picking up that award. One of its schools, Woodpecker Hall Academy, is also in the running to be named ‘UK Primary School of the Year‘ at the Pearson National Teaching Awards.
