As well as businesses the event also highlighted people whose dedication “strengthens the local community every day”

The “very best” of Enfield’s community spirit was on display as hundreds of residents, businesses, charities, schools and community organisations came together for Enfield Business Awards 2026.
Held at Dugdale Arts Centre, this year’s event celebrated the individuals and organisations making a real difference across the borough.
While “business excellence” remained at the heart of the awards, the afternoon also highlighted people whose dedication “strengthens the local community every day”.
One of the most memorable moments came when the ‘Community Champion Award’ was presented to Cathy Werrell. In a carefully-planned surprise, teachers worked discreetly to bring Cathy to the venue, unaware she was about to be recognised in front of friends, colleagues, and members of the wider community.
The emotional presentation to Cathy received a standing ovation and became one of the defining moments of the day.
The awards, once again organised by Garry Kousoulou of Loving Social Media, continue to grow each year, having first been held in 2023.

Speaking after the event, Garry said: “These awards are about much more than business. They’re about recognising the people who give their time, passion and energy to make Enfield a better place.
“Seeing the community come together and witnessing Cathy receive such a heartfelt surprise reminded us exactly why these awards matter.”
The event welcomed local businesses, educators, charities, community leaders and residents, celebrating achievements across a wide range of categories that recognised innovation, service, leadership and community contribution.
Following the ceremony, finalists, winners and guests continued the celebrations at a local networking reception, providing an opportunity to build new relationships and celebrate the borough’s success together.

Plans are already underway for the 2027 edition of Enfield Business Awards, with organisers aiming to make the event even bigger while continuing to “shine a spotlight on the people and organisations who make a lasting impact across the borough”.
