A group of entrepreneurs have graduated from a free, charity-funded business course aiming to help women “grow and develop” their businesses.

The RSA Trust Inspiring Women Start Up Programme run by Enterprise Enfield saw 21 people graduate in total, with 18 from Enfield, after they completed a six-month business course.

The course is completely free thanks to the funding from RSA Trust, an Enfield-based charity.

The graduation ceremony took place at Forty Hall last Wednesday (8th). Despina Johnson, Enterprise Enfield’s CEO, said: “We are immensely proud of our 2026 graduates.

“Enterprise Enfield will continue to offer expert advice along with a range of business support services to assist the graduates to grow and develop their businesses further and realise their full potential.”

The course aims to teach women the necessary skills they need to start up their own business or to sell their own products. Some skills taught on the course include creating a business model, legal requirements, finance and tax, and more.

The 2026 graduates have an array of ideas on what to do now that they have the skills to make these ideas a reality. Ideas range from handcrafted wax candles to bookkeeping.

Shadeen Rose plans to launch her business, New HoEYEZons – Sight Loss Awareness and Consultancy, which will aim to promote more awareness for visually impaired people.

Despina continued: “Our flagship RSA Trust Inspiring Women Start Up Programme has been running for nearly two decades now – empowering literally hundreds of women to develop their ideas into viable business models- and become ready to launch their new enterprises.”
