An Enfield retailer has been named one of the nation’s “most inspiring” small firms.

Tailor Made Living, run by Antonia Sanchez-Toomey, has been put on a list of 100 inspiring businesses by the Small Business Saturday UK campaign.

Tailor Made Living is a lifestyle store specialising in homeware, fashion and gifts and was founded by Antonia in 2017. It has been chosen to be part of this year’s SmallBiz100 line-up, which “showcases impressive, independent businesses from across the nation”.

Now in its tenth year, UK Small Business Saturday will return on 3rd December with a mission to support and celebrate the UK’s 5.5 million small businesses, particularly as they face mounting economic challenges over the winter.

Antonia said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be included in Small Business Saturday’s SmallBiz100 list. I am really proud of this fantastic achievement on the back of some very challenging times for small businesses like Tailor Made Living.”

We need your help! We are looking for people in Enfield who can help support us to produce more high-quality local journalism in Enfield Dispatch. We have *no* shareholders; we have *no* wealthy backers; we are run by a small but dedicated team as part of a not-for-profit community interest company; we hold local authority to account, expose scandals, highlight inequality, promote good causes, and provide people a platform to highlight what matters to them; every penny of income from Enfield Dispatch helps us deliver more journalism in Enfield; the paper costs nearly £6,000 per month to produce and distribute, but monthly income is under £5,000 currently; we currently have 120 supporters who contribute around 12% of our income, but we need more! Can you help us? Our membership scheme has many different options, starting from £3 per month, depending on your ability to contribute. Rewards include having a copy of the paper posted to you every month. Local businesses and charities can also sign up and, from as little as £10 per month, access discounts on advertising. Tailor Made Living will be profiled by the campaign on 29th September as part of the 100-day countdown to Small Business Saturday UK.

Michelle Ovens, director of Small Business Saturday UK, said: “It’s fantastic to celebrate small firms just like Tailor Made Living as part of our ten-year anniversary of the campaign.

“Over the past decade we have been able to spotlight dynamic businesses from across the nation, who remind us of the incredible tenacity and determination of small firms in this country. “It’s brilliant to have Tailor Made Living in this year’s SmallBiz100 line-up.”

A grassroots, not-for-profit campaign, Small Business Saturday first came to the UK in 2013 and has grown into a high-profile campaign celebrating small business success and encouraging consumers to shop local and support businesses in their communities.
