Marcus Kitchen and Bar picked up the prize at the prestigious Italian Awards

An Italian restaurant in Enfield Town has been named the best in south-east England.

Marcus Kitchen and Bar picked up the prize at the eighth-annual Italian Awards held in Leeds this week.

Opened in 2020 by Marco Guarino and his partner Davide, Marcus serves an “eclectic mix of typical Neapolitans and southern Italian recipes produced with the best ingredients” and received glowing praise from Dispatch food reviewer Neil Littman in 2022.

Reacting to their award win, Davide said: “Since opening we have always been dreaming big, and we were sure that our authentic concept of regional food was going to work. And it worked!

“We can’t be more proud of this achievement, also for the amazing staff with us since the opening, the real success is mostly because of them all.

“A big thanks goes to the Enfield community and surrounding areas for trusting us and our crazy dream!”
