Thames Water is undertaking “essential works” near Enfield Town Station that has blocked eastbound traffic through the town centre

Roadworks at a key Enfield Town junction that have caused traffic chaos are set to continue until the end of the week.
“Essential works” being undertaken by Thames Water have forced the part-closure of the Silver Street and Southbury Road junction, with no vehicles allowed to travel eastbound from the town centre towards Southbury and Ponders End.
Instead, vehicles are being forced to head south down Genotin Road or north up Silver Street before finding an alternative route east.
The roadworks are likely to be in place until 6pm on Friday (11th) with a temporary traffic order stating that it “will continue in force for five days or until works are completed”.
Several buses being diverted, with no eastbound services stopping in the town centre. The affected routes are the 121, 191, 192, 231, 307, 313, 317 and 629, with all being on diversion from until 6pm on Friday. The diversions are being taken via Silver Street, Baker Street, Parsonage Lane and Willow Road.
