Leisure centres across Enfield are offering a range of free activities for local residents as part of National Fitness Day this Wednesday (18th).

Now in its thirteenth year, National Fitness Day is run by leisure industry body UK Active and aims to encourage the nation to get moving and shine a light on the many benefits that being active can offer.

In Enfield, leisure centres operator Better is offering a range of free activities, including gym sessions between 9am and 10am and between 7pm and 8pm at Southbury Leisure Centre; swimming sessions between 1pm and 2pm at Albany Leisure Centre; and fitness classes such as yoga, body conditioning and group cycle at Albany Southbury and Southgate leisure centres.

Vishal Karia, partnership manager for GLL, the charitable social enterprise that operates Better’s leisure centres, said: “It has never been more important for the public to embrace activity and fitness as an aid to mental and physical health.

“So we are delighted to join this year’s National Fitness Day campaign – health for life – in our leisure centres, gyms, studios and pools, with a host of free classes and activities for everyone.

“No matter your state of fitness, taking small steps to be more active more often will have huge benefits throughout your life – and that journey could start on National Fitness Day when you try something new.”
