A free health pop-up event is taking place in Ponders End next month.

The event at Ponders End United Reformed Church (URC) on Thursday, 10th September, from 11am-3pm, is open to all and will be hosted by Medicus Health Partners, the largest operator of GP services in Enfield.

There will be 16 health and community partners offering free health checks, with local people able to benefit from information, guidance and advice on how to further access support in the community.

Check-ups will include free blood pressure, blood glucose, hepatitis B and C testing, and body composition checks.

Visitors can also get practical advice on a range of topics, including healthy eating, cancer screening, mental health, oral health, stopping smoking, vaccinations, carers’ support and more.

The event will also have short guest speaker sessions alongside refreshments, making it a chance for local people to get a health check, ask questions and find out more about the support available in their community.

Sharon McClean, an inequalities health champions co-ordinator at Medicus, said: “We are keen to reach as many local people as possible and encourage them to come along and take advantage of the support available.”

Ponders End URC is based in College Court Road, EN3 4EY. For more information about the event:
